Supported Platforms and Requirements

FEMtools is available in native versions for Windows, Linux, Mac and Unix.

Windows Mac OS X AIX Solaris

All versions are functionally identical with a uniform user interface (GUI) on every supported platform. To ensure optimal performance, all versions are native ports of a common source code.

The current version of FEMtools is supported on the following operating systems:

Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 (32-bit)
Window XP Pro, vista, 7, 8, Server 2003/2008/2012 (64-bit)
Linux 64-bit
Mac OS X 10.5 or higher on Intel-based Macs (64-bit)

Legacy versions are available for the following OS:

Linux 32-bit
HP - UX 11.00+ (64-bit)
Solaris 2.8+ (64-bit)
IBM AIX 4.3+ (64-bit)

General Requirements

Minimum 250 MB free hard disk space
Minimum 1 GB Ram (4 GB recommended)
A graphics card that supports OpenGL. The graphics performance will be better if the graphics card supports hardware accelerated OpenGL.
CD-ROM drive
A USB port or parallel printer port (for node-locked license option)
A TCP/IP connection (for floating license option)
Adobe Acrobat Reader or similar (for reading online documentation)
